Chapter 1

The Perfect 14 to 0 Pistons and the 6 to 5 Math

Simon Carver

Let us get straight to it. Fourteen and zero. Phillip did not drop a single regular season game in Season 12. Not one.

Jimbo

Fourteen and zero. That regular season dominance laid the foundation for the whole run.

Simon Carver

Fourteen and oh in the regular season, then a nine and two run through the playoffs to take the title. That pulls him right up behind Joe in the Season 2k26 championship count. It is six to five now.

Jimbo

Six to five. Joe still holds the edge, but Phillip swept the whole regular season and then swept the award board too. You look at the regular season team profile, eighty point four points per game while giving up just sixty two point zero. That is a plus eighteen point four point differential.

Simon Carver

Plus eighteen point four! That is just complete, total control on both ends. And Kevin Durant was the engine for all of it. Season MVP, seventeen point six points per game in the regular season, shooting fifty six point two percent from the floor.

Jimbo

Yeah, seventeen point six for KD in the regular season, then fifteen point seven in the postseason. But what really blew Detroit's playoff run wide open was Luke Kennard.

Simon Carver

Oh, Kennard was absurd! He jumped from three point five points per game in the regular season to nine point seven in the playoffs. And he shot eighty percent from three point range in the postseason! Eight zero percent!

Jimbo

Eighty percent from deep on three point attempts! That is automatic. And while Kennard was burning down the perimeter, Mark Williams, your Defensive Player of the Year, was locking down the inside. Williams averaged six point six rebounds and zero point eight blocks in the regular season, and in the playoffs, Detroit held opponents to fifty six point six points per game.

Simon Carver

Fifty six point six points allowed in the playoffs. That is suffocating. And Joe's Rockets just could not generate enough clean looks in the Finals to survive it.

Jimbo

They really couldn't. Even though Devin Vassell was doing everything in his power, Vassell led Houston in postseason scoring with eleven point one points per game on sixty one point five percent shooting overall and sixty four point four percent from three.

Simon Carver

Vassell was sensational. But the issue was at the point, wasn't it?

Jimbo

It was Kyrie Irving. Kyrie had a rough playoff run. He went from eight point eight points per game in the regular season down to eight point four in the playoffs, but the efficiency just collapsed, forty one point nine percent from the field and thirty one point four percent from three point range.

Simon Carver

Thirty one point four from deep for Kyrie in twelve playoff games. That just froze their half court execution right when Detroit was turning up the heat.

Chapter 2

Three Seasons Left to Catch the Crown

Jimbo

So now we look at the big picture. Joe leads the 2k26 title race six to five. But there are only two seasons left, Season 13 and Season 14. That is it, fourteen total.

Simon Carver

Two seasons left. That means Phillip has to win both of the remaining seasons if he wants to overtake Joe and take the crown outright. If Joe wins even one more title, he locks it up.

Jimbo

The pressure on Phillip right now is immense. Even with a complete sweep of Season 12 and taking all the major hardware, none of that transfers over. Everyone goes right back into the draft pool for Season 13.

Simon Carver

That complete clean slate is what makes it so intense. You cannot ride momentum from last season's roster. You have to nail draft strategy all over again with only two opportunities remaining.

Jimbo

Exactly. Every pick and every trade in the Season 13 draft is going to carry huge weight. Meanwhile, Joe is sitting at six to five, just one title away from closing out the league.

Simon Carver

So both managers enter Season 13 building completely from scratch. Does Joe draft a dominant backcourt strategy, or can Phillip execute another perfect draft board?

Jimbo

Season 13 is where the draft smarts will be tested to the limit. If Joe wins the draft and takes Season 13, the entire fourteen season series is decided right there.

Simon Carver

And if Phillip pulls off Season 13, we head to a winner take all Season 14 final draft.

Jimbo

It all starts with the upcoming draft board.

Simon Carver

It is going to be a wild final stretch. Alright, good chatting, talk soon.
